Through the therapy we provide, you will be able to improve function and prevent further complications.

Why Choose Us

At New West Physical Therapy, we are passionately committed to treating the individual as a whole. The most challenging part of being a therapist is treating the whole individual and each individual is different. Many therapists will treat the pain or the injured body part, but here at New West Physical Therapy, our therapists will consider all the aspects of a person’s health and well-being. We don't only treat a specific body part or diagnosis, but we treat the individual as a whole. Many people have other health conditions, physical limitations or cognitive challenges that can affect the way their case is managed.

Our physical therapists are highly experienced individuals who will take time to assess the needs of each patient. We treat each patient with respect, dignity, and compassionate understanding.

MEET THE OWNER

Michael Chon PT, DPT

Michael is the owner of New West Physical Therapy. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at UCSD and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at USC. He has over 20 years of experience as a physical therapist and has worked in multiple settings to widen his knowledge and scope of practice. He has worked in settings with geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care, sports medicine, and outpatient orthopedics. He was board certified in orthopedics and has been trained in PRRT (Primal Reflex Release Technique) to help those in pain. Michael is passionate about his role as a physical therapist not simply for the profession itself but because he gets to use his giftedness to deliver compassionate and effective care. He sees each person as a unique individual and strives to help each person he sees with utmost attentiveness. He has been able to use his expertise locally as well as globally, basically wherever he goes, because someone is always in need of help!

Some interesting facts…He has been to Australia, Czech Republic, Spain, Austria, England, Argentina, South Korea, Honduras, and South Africa, which means he has touched all six continents with the exception of Antarctica, which he has no intention of visiting.  He also enjoys visiting different baseball stadiums around the country and one day he also hopes to hike the Grand Canyon!

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family which includes his lovely wife and four wonderful children. He is blessed to be part of a church in Orange County where he devotes much of his time to learn and serve. He also enjoys coaching, playing, and watching baseball, basketball, football, and golf. His favorite team of all time is the Los Angeles Dodgers!

As with so many patients, you will be thankful to have met a physical therapist who truly cares about the well-being of his patients and is so knowledgeable about the scope of therapy an individual needs for his or her progress to restoration.
